L'Amour Fou: Documentary about Yves Saint Laurent & his life-partner, Pierre Berge

This Friday L'Amour Fou begins screening at the Laemmle Royal Theatre in Santa Monica.  It's a documentary about fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his life-partner Pierre Berger.  If you love the genius of YSL and queer love, then go check it out.  Your girl's def gonna be there.

Snowbunnies!

So, the fall shows have been going on for a few weeks now.  I been looking at them all, and it’s pretty dope stuff.  I’d have to dedicate my whole blog to fashion to cover it, and maybe I’ll do that next year, but not this year.  There was one item, though, that grabbed me and made me sad I don’t live in the snow, for like a minute…like, I would seriously do NYC in January to have a reason to wear these, and you know I DESPISE the cold more than anything.  Anyway, these are the baddest lil ladies I’ve seen in a MINUTE!

Jockin' Flo's Fresh!!

I know you remember badass Florence Griffith-Joyner (right???)  She was BAD!  I was only a baby when she was putting it down on the track, but I can remember her style & vibe, and my fam were big track & field fans.  We LOVED when Flo-jo was on TV!  She was bad, and you KNOW she was bad, cause now they’re jockin’ her vibe…

 

 

 

 

Heavy hitters like Rihanna and Lady Gaga are wearing modern versions of her one-legged jumpsuits, and I had seen one jumpsuit like this hit last year’s NYFW runway.  As much as I like the concept though, I’m not feeling these choices.  They’re kinda dull.  Someone needs to call Flo-jo and have her donate some old joints for inspiration…

Dang, I don't know.  Eh, well *shrug*  But I do know that if I went to a red-carpet EVENT wearin' the same thing a girl wore on the STREET to run errands, I'd have my stylist's AY-ASS...yessir.

Kicks 4 chicks

So, I haven’t done a post on sneakers in a while…I have a love/hate relationship with them.  When you’re 5’5” but were SUPPOSED to be 5'8 / 5'9-ish, that’s how it’s got to be.  They’re fun to look at, but I only wear ‘em when I run to the store or when I walk my dog.
