Hugs are warm physical expressions of love and connection. Naturally, I love them...and I def hug & kiss my friends and fam all the time, but yesterday, I got into a small conversation with a chick, and when I got up to leave (we were eating lunch next to each other outside) the girl, not yet finished eating, also got up and hugged me. Not unusual, for me. My friends are always surprised, and they even mess with me, about the innumerable interactions I have with people on a daily basis. I hug my doorman (well, one of 'em, the other's a pervert), talk to almost all my neighbors on my way to walk my dog, strangers while walking, and anyone who helps me in a store. It's important, I think, to enjoy little connections throughout the day with everyday people, not just your tribe of family and friends. Point is, conversing with/hugging a stranger is normal, but hugs are usually exchanged after conversations that span longer than 5 (maybe 7?) minutes like this one, unless the person is already a friend of a friend. I welcomed it though, as always. I told you, I get so busy I forget time, but I also forget the significant but small side-bar things...like hugs.
